How do we build a kinder world? One kind action at a time and we believe sharing a hug is one of the best ways to share kindness. We've been offering hugs around the world since 2008 and we'd LOVE for you to get the chance to meet huggers around the world.
From Carol: Yago has been joining our World Hugs Weekend since 2010 and often offers free hugs in three different locations in Switzerland that weekend.
Meet Yago from Lausanne, Switzerland
How long have you been offering free hugs?
Almost 14 years. First time on 2006, March 16th.
Where do you do free hugs and how often?
Once a week in Lausanne station. More on Christmas Time, and several actions in the year, like GFH.
How many join you to offer hugs? Or do you go solo?
I often hug solo. But dozen and dozen of people already join me during all those years. Some did only once, some more.
Why did you start giving free hugs and why are hugs important?
I start after watching Juan Mann first video on YouTube. It made me wanna try. And when I did it... I knew it won't be only a try. Huggin is important cause it may help someone else. And well, it's pleasant... and free!
What languages do you speak?
I usually speak french.
Do you have a favorite(s) hug story you'd like to share? Enough to write a book ;)
Is there anything else you'd like to add? Come on, try hugging strangers for a few hours and you'll see what we're talking about.
